In partnership with local industry champions Air Spray USA and Sel-Tech, GMI hosted its first Aerospace Exploration Day. Around 20 high school and college students spent the first hour touring the Sel-Tech manufacturing facility. Guided by President Erik Rust and Sel-Tech engineers, the students were exposed to CNC machining, CNC bending and CNC shearing as well as custom metal fabrication. Students were then shuttled down the road to the Air Spray hangar where they listened to aviation industry representatives discuss careers ranging from engineering and pilots to airport management and commercial airline positions. Following the speakers, Director of USA Operations Ravi Saip led students on a tour of the Air Spray hangar, provided demonstrations and shared examples of the technology used in aircraft flight, maintenance and repair.
